2025 has seen explosive growth in the vintage furniture market—search volume for 1960s-1980s mid-century sofas, carved wardrobes, and metal-frame coffee tables on secondhand platforms rose 210% YoY. Meanwhile, “vintage replication” is trending: A furniture brand launched a “Vintage Classics Collection,” 1:1 replicating 1970s velvet 3-seater sofas (same jacquard fabric, solid wood frames) and 1980s glass-top coffee tables (metal trim details preserved), with “custom distressing” (adjustable scratches, patina, etc.).
The collection sold over 5,000 units in 3 months, with 75% of buyers aged 28-35. Industry insiders note that vintage furniture’s popularity stems from consumers’ desire for uniqueness, pushing the industry to shift from “fast iteration” to “long-term production of classic styles”—some brands even offer “vintage furniture maintenance services” to extend product lifecycles.
